Sacred Heart Parish Family Camp
This church camp is held on a weekend in the summer at the Braeburn Bible Camp 84 km north of Whitehorse on the shore of Braeburn Lake. Parishioners from all ages across the diocese are welcome to attend.
Accommodations include cabins, RV spots (with or without power), and tent sites. Only have a day to spare? You're welcome to come out just for the day too! Participants can gather in the dining hall for meals, cook hotdogs around the outdoor firepit overlooking the lake, create crafts in the craft hut, jump off the pier, paddle canoes, catch fish in the pond or take a leisurely walk around the property. There is also ample time for prayer and praising God for His beautiful creation of Yukon.
If one of our pastors is available to travel out, we are blessed with a beautiful outdoor Mass on Saturday evening or Sunday morning.
Advanced registration is required to book cabins and for meal planning. (Sample registration form)

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
This beautiful program, for children ages 3 to 12, fosters children’s personal relationship with God. We have had this program in our parish since 2017. We currently offer level one, which is for the 3 to 5 year old child. We would like to grow our program but we need trained catechists. We are hoping to offer training here in Whitehorse. Please look at the display in the entrance of the church which shows pictures from our special space, our atrium. Also, explore the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Association of Canada (www.cgsac.ca) and the United States Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (www.cgsusa.org) websites.
If you are interested in participating in the training or would like further information, please email [email protected]

A Beautiful Breakfast
In 2018-2019, Sacred Heart Parish Community has started a monthly fellowship get together after the 10:30 mass on the first Sunday of every month. There is no cost but donations are welcomed to cover the expense of the food. Why?
A beautiful breakfast idea came about because a few of us kept running into some new parishioners (here for year or less) who had not been able to “connect” to the community beyond being present at the mass. We reflected on our own experiences coming to Whitehorse within the last decade. It wasn’t easy at first to meet a catholic community within our parish. Many of us felt that some of the more intimate gatherings; CWL, book studies, Knights, retreats, or house gatherings may be initially intimidating especially for some families. We wanted a chance to make all parts of it beautiful - done with love and intention and special attention to all things lovely: good food options, beautiful decor and artistic touches where possible. Everything is meant to tell people that we are so glad that they are a part of our faith community, and we want to get to know each other slowly but surely. Over time, if offered on a monthly basis, this may become an opportunity for small groups to form for faith study, rosary, service, etc. Who?
This gathering is open to everyone! See you there! CAn I GET INVOLVED?
